The adaptive schools approach to leadership is geared towards building collaborative capacity in systems. Leaders will engage in the tools, lenses, and organizing ideas that provide for "structured, sustained, and supported instructional discussions" to generate improvement in student learning. Topics to be addressed and covered to develop and enhance leadership skills will include the following:Adaptivity, Two Ways of Talking; Dialogue and Discussion, Norms of Collaboration, Two Types of Conflict and Effective Meetings and Four Hats of Shared Leadership.

Join learning consultant, Nancy Gould, for an activity driven, fact filled workshop. Strategies will be appropriate for K-12. Participants will learn to quickly and accurately identify, group and teach students with weakness in their foundational reading skills. This day will enable teams to identify the critical features that create a results-based focus by using data to improve student learning. Practice protocols used to examine student data and reflect on classroom work. Teams will inquire into and discuss changes in instructional practices that lead to increased student achievement. Apply and discuss protocols for adult work to set goals and plan instruction, and apply and analyze protocols for examining student work.
