Lifeguarding Today

The American Red Cross Lifeguarding Today course gives the participant the knowledge, skills, and practice to become a certified lifeguard.  CPR-PR and First Aid Training are included in the course of instruction.

Cost: $100 + $10 for pocket mask.      Fee includes books.

Prerequisites:

  • Must be 15 years of age
  • Swim 500 yards using the crawl, breaststroke, and sidestroke
  • Dive to at least 9 feet and bring a diving brick to the surface
  • Must tread water for one minute without use of the hands
  • Times: Friday evenings 6-9 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday 8 a.m.-9 p.m.

Lifeguard Recertification Course

This class is for those who have current Lifeguard Training, but need to renew after three years. You must bring your current certification card and pocket mask with you to class.

Water Safety Instructor (WSI)

Participants must be dedicated and hardworking.  Those who earn their certificate will be able to teach all Red Cross Aquatic programs with the exception of Lifeguard training. Students must be 16 years of age by the last day of class.  They are required to successfully complete the pre-course session consisting of water safety, swimming skills and knowledge, and attend all classes.

Cost: $150 (includes FIT Manual and WSI candidate kit)

May 3-7 & 10-13, Nine days

Fee: $25.00/student    Levels I-VI

        $21.00/student for Shorty`s

Swimming lessons will be in the after school/early evening

Sessions will be assigned based on registration totals. 

Registration forms are available at the LqPV elementary schools and high school or contact Community Education. Classes will be filled on a first come-first serve basis. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: APRIL 12.

 

Recreational Swimming & Open Gym for All Ages

LqPV High School Pool, Commons, & Gym

Sundays, 2:00-4:00 p.m., March 14 & 28

Fee: $2.00/individual or $5.00/family

Bring the entire family for swimming, basketball, volleyball, and fun playing together. Please call the Community Education Office to schedule groups

 

 

 

 

Aerobic Watercise

Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:00-5:00 p.m.

Spring Session: March 1-April 28 (18 sessions)

Fee: $40.00 for Spring Session or $2.50/individual session

 

Aerobic Watercise tones and strengthens muscles, trains the heart to work efficiently, is low impact and is therapeutic-mentally, physically and emotionally.

 

 

 

 

Lap Swimming

Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays, 6:30-7:45 a.m. (on school days)

Fee: $2.50/session

 

 

 

 

 

Individual Swimming Lessons

Individual lessons can be arranged by contacting the Community Education Office.

 

 

 

Pool Rent
