ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education)
Lac qui Parle Valley ECFE offers a variety of opportunities for families with young children to spend time together as a family or one-to-one (one parent, one child). ECFE is a great place to get acquainted with other parents in the community who have young children. Classes offer parent child activities that give parents a special time with their child as well as a time to discuss parenting issues with other moms and dads.
Is your family new to the community? Please call the Community Education Office (toll free 1-877-889-4153 ext 4814) to get on our census and to receive information about early childhood screening, ECFE and preschool classes and special events.
Early Childhood Screening
The early childhood years from birth to the start of kindergarten are an important time of rapid learning and growth. Early Childhood Screening is a quick and simple check of how children are doing between the ages of 3 to 4 years. It identifies, at an early stage, possible learning or health concerns so that children can get needed help before starting school. Early Childhood Screening is not a kindergarten entrance test.
Lac qui Parle Community Preschool
Cooperating and collaborating, Lac qui ParleValleySchool District through the School Readiness program and Prairie Five Head Start, offer preschool experiences for children who are at least three years old by September 1, 2011. There are classrooms in the Appleton `52 Wing and in the MMN Elementary School East Wing. Call Lac qui Parle Valley Community Education 752-4818 or toll free 1-877-889-4153 for more information.
