AARP Driver Safety Program Refresher Courses
Fee: $12 for AARP members, $14 for non-members, payable to AARP. Register with Community Ed; pay at the class.

Lac qui Parle Valley High School

This classroom driver retraining program is designed specifically for persons who have previously completed a defensive driving course. Co-sponsored by AARP. Sign up early! Maximum of 25 in each class.
Driver`s Safety 55+ Driver Improvement Courses
Fee: $20; AAA members $17 with card.
Instructor: Larry Hastad; Drivers Education instructor for 20+ years.
This course is offered by the Minnesota Highway Safety Center. No tests, no reading! Driver safety, confidence and comfort are enhanced by utilizing the most up-to-date research in the field, including the latest visual scanning and steering techniques, anti-lock braking (ABS) skills, airbag information, driver distraction, road rage and new vehicle technology. Persons age 55 and older who complete the course qualify for 10 percent discount on their auto insurance premiums for three years, according to Minnesota law.

Stitching Club
Enjoy stitching and visiting with other stitchers; embroidery, knitting, crocheting, patching. Share patterns and tips. Coffee will be ready. Several ladies enjoyed the sessions last year in Madison.
