Make sure your business is a roadside destination in the digital world. Come ready to learn about placing your point of interest within the GPS. Not Our Kids...

A community forum for parents

Tuesday, November 18, 7 p.m.

Lac qui Parle Valley High School Media Center

Facilitator: Linda Norland, Countryside Public Health

Countryside Public Health is concerned with the health of the youth in our county, mental, emotional as well as physical.  We have reviewed the data from the MN Student Survey for 2007 for the Lac qui Parle county students and would like to share some of that data with the community as well as some of the data regarding teen pregnancy rates, and sexually transmitted diseases.  Research shows that the teenage brain is not fully developed until around the age of 25. The way teens think leads to risky behavior such as frequent binge drinking, poor driving decisions, and inappropriate relationships.

If our communities are aware of the responses of our youth, we can look at how we can best get the important information across to our teens that we feel they should use to make decisions. Parents and all community members are invited to attend.
