·         Demonstration of proper use of equipment.

·         Demonstrate proper plasma cutting safety procedures.

·         Measuring Instruments

 

·         Demonstrate proper use of steel tape, micrometer & dial caliper

·         Examination over measuring devices and actual measurements using those three tools.

#4 - 6

·         Electrode Identification

 

·         Students will demonstrate knowledge of the electrode identification system

·         Student will properly identify various electrodes and their characteristics.

 

·         Arc Welding Practicum using the arc (stick)

 

·         Students need to weld the following welds:

·         Bead

·         Butt

·         Lap

·         T Weld

·         Instructor evaluates each student’s welds and passes/fails each weld.  Student must attain competency level determined by the instructor.

 

·         Arc Welding Practicum using the MIG welder

 

·         Students need to weld the following welds:

·         Bead

·         Butt

·         Lap

·         T Weld

·         Instructor evaluates each student’s welds and passes/fails each weld.  Student must attain competency level determined by the instructor.

 

·         Plasma cutting practicum

 

·         Students need to cut a scrap piece of metal using the plasma cutting system.

·         Instructor evaluation

 

·         Oxy fuel welding

 

·         Students need to weld the following:

·         Bead

·         Butt

·         Lap

·         T weld

·         Instructor evaluates each student’s welds and passes/fails each weld.  Student must attain competency level determined by the instructor.

·         Welding Plans & Symbols

 

·         Students will Read welding plans and symbols

·         Students will be required to read various shop projects plans and the welding symbols that are on each.

#8 – 18

·         Manufacturing of Trailers and Other Student Shop Projects

 

·         Students will manufacture various student chosen shop projects or manufacture trailers for customer orders.

·         Students will be evaluated based on work ethic (staying on task), attendance and other factors critical to a manufacturing business, such as weld quality etc.
