Hello, my name is Angie Comes. I teach grades
5-6 special education here at Lac qui Parle Middle School.
I am very excited to be working in our new setting with great
students and parents from across the district! I am very
fortunate to get to know my students and their families while
working with them closely over a two year time span.
This is my eighth year in the teaching profession. I taught
Kindergarten to twelfth grade students with Specific Learning
Disabilities in North Dakota for two years prior to my current
special education experience within our district at Milan.
I originally grew up in Watertown, SD and attended grade
school and high school there. At Northern State University,
I earned a degree in Elementary Education in 2000 and then
decided to further my education at Southwest Minnesota State
University later earning a Master of Science Degree in Education,
with an emphasis in educational leadership.
My family lives in the friendly community of Appleton. Craig
and I had a baby girl named Elena last May, 2007. She made
September difficult for me to come back to school, but the
transition has been good for all of us. I thought I had an
idea what motherhood would be like, but had no idea that
such a little person could take up so much room in my heart!
Elena has really made me recognize how important my profession
is and that you trust your child with me each and every day.
Family is important and together we can make a difference!
Please call or e-mail me with any questions or concerns.
