I would like to take this time to
introduce myself. My name is Janelle Stender and
I am in my 18th year of teaching in the LqPV school
district. This is the first and only district I have
taught in. I have taught 5th and 6th grade during
that time at M-M-N Elementary School in Madison for
17 years. I have truly enjoyed the students and the
people I’ve worked with through out my teaching
career. The support of the parents and community
is outstanding in the LqPV School district. I am
looking forward to meeting new parents this year
and getting to know the people I’ll be working
with.
I have been married to Kipp for 11 years and we
have two daughters: Abby (8) and Izabella (6). We
live on a farm 7 miles south and 2 miles west of
Madison. I’ve enjoyed life out on the farm
for 11 years. Before I married my husband I was a
town kid at heart. Now, I really do enjoy the peace
and quiet of the country. During my spare time I
enjoy long walks out in the country, reading magazines,
mystery novels and spending time with my family.
I originally grew up in Valley City, ND and attended
grade school, high school and college in my hometown.
I received a degree in Elementary Education in 1990
and a Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Curriculum
and Instruction in the area of Language Arts from
San Diego State University in San Diego, CA in 1996.
I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach
5\6 science at the LqPV Middle School. The room I
am teaching in is equipped especially for the area
of science. The students will have opportunities
to explore hands-on science activities. I truly believe
the best way to learn science related topics is through
experimentation.
My educational beliefs are simple. Treat students
with respect and you will get it back. Teach with
enthusiasm and students will get excited about learning.
Show students that you care about them and they will
feel safe and comfortable in the classroom. Learning
will definitely take place!!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to educate
your child this year! It’s going to be a great
year at the LqPV Middle School!! Please feel free
to contact me if you have any questions or concerns
through out the school year. E-mail: jstender@lqpv.org
