MMN Elementary Update
January 8th, 2021
The new year is off to a good start. Arrival and departures are going better than expected. It helps to have the bus area for busses only. Families have been doing awesome at dropping off students on the school side of the street. This eliminates students having to cross traffic to enter school.
It looks like the school staff is in the next group to receive vaccinations. Staff will also have the option to take the saliva test every 2 weeks. We will continue with enhanced protocols, social distancing, and wearing masks. Starting January 18th students will need to wear masks during PE unless they have a doctor’s note. Students that currently have medical permission to wear face shields will not need to wear masks in PE. This is a state requirement at this point in time. We can not make requirements less restrictive.
Our goal is to do our best to remain in the in-person model for the remainder of the school year. Please continue to follow the CDC guidelines and keep your child home if they have any symptoms. Families have the option to choose distance learning at any time during the year. Please let your child’s teacher know if you decide to do distance learning.
Students walking or arriving by vehicle will enter the building by the Kindergarten doors for the remainder of the year. All buses will line up in front of the big gym and office area and bus students will enter by the main office. Please start using the main entrance during the day if needed.

Please remember the bus zone is for buses only when buses are present and drop your children off on the school side of the street.
The 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month will be planning days and no school for students. Students will not have school on January 13th, 27th, and Friday, January 22nd this month. The end of 2nd quarter work day is January 22nd.
