  • READ Act at LQPV
    • Minnesota Reading to Ensure Academic Development Act, known as the READ Act, was passed and signed into law by Governor Tim Walz on May 24, 2023. The goal of this legislation is to have every Minnesota child reading at or above grade level every year, beginning in kindergarten, and to support multilingual learner and students receiving special education services in achieving their individualized reading goals in order to meet grade level proficiency.
    • Per MDE Mandated READ Act requirements, the LQPV School District is utilizing an assessment called CaptiReadBasix to identify specific areas of academic need as it relates to students in grades 4-12.
Data from this assessment will be used alongside classroom work, teacher observation, and formative & summative assessments that are already in place, to support students.  The CaptiReadBasix assessment data will support the LQPV teachers to better tailor instruction to meet student needs.  Our goal is to ensure that all students get the support they need in order to be most successful in reading, in school, and in life.

  • Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness Achievement and Integration (CACR/A&I)
    • During the 2024 Minnesota Legislative Session, Legislators retitled the World’s Best Workforce (WBWF) to Comprehensive Achievement and Civic Readiness (CACR).  What does this mean for all school districts in the state of Minnesota?  The new CACR focuses on the WBWF tenets of supporting students academically throughout their K-12 school experience ensuring students reach high academic standards while also preparing students to be active citizens and developing civic responsibility.  The change will be reflected in the 2025-26 CACR plan as well as the 2025 CACR Annual Report.  In addition to the READ Act goal which is a standalone goal, the CACR will contain the five WBWF goals.
    • LQPV A&I Plan 2023-26
      • LQPV School District is currently working on its next three-year plan which will span the 2027-2029 academic years.  This plan will go to the board of directors in March of 2026 for approval and will go into effect during the 2026-2027 school year.
