Multilingual/English Learner Information

The LQPV School District has a comprehensive ML/EL program that services identified students.

  • ACCESS Testing Information - The LQPV School District evaluates ML/EL identified students in grades K-12 annually using the ACCESS assessment.  This assessment measures skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.  The goal is to monitor progress toward English language proficiency, aligning with the WIDA English Language Development Standards adopted by Minnesota.  Students exit from an English language program (LIEP) when they meet specific proficiency requirements, including achieving a proficient ACCESS score.

  • Tercero Certification Information - During the 2024-25 school year, all currently employed ML/EL Paraprofessionals and ML/EL certified staff completed a Tercero course through the University of MN-Morris.  This course is a community engagement program that connects students and community members in various translation and interpretation roles such as interpreting at events, providing translation assistance, or working as interpreters in the community ESL program.
